Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of young heartache achieved widespread success in the early 21st century. Swift began showing an enthusiasm for the industry of music from a very young age. Swift's career grew rapidly from children's play roles, through her first public appearance in front of thousands. In 2011, Swift aged 11 at the time, performed The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers' basketball match. Following that, she started writing songs of her own. Swift got inspiration from musicians from the country genre, such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks to create original material that reflected the loneliness she experienced at the age of 13. Swift's family relocated into Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was 13so she could spend more time pursuing country music labels in Nashville.
