Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She currently competes within the UFC Flyweight division. Valentina Shevchenko who was a former UFC Flyweight titleholder, and UFC other fighter, is her younger sister. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as an Muay Thai boxer. She made her debut in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the competition and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko took home another medal in 2007 and a bronze medal in 2008 and a gold in the year 2011, and was crowned in the position of IFMA Amateur World MuayThai Champion in 2016. Antonia was a professional who started her career as a professional in 2003, won in 2012 and 2016 the International Lion Fight Lightweight championships. In 2016, the WMC World Championships also held in 2016, and she took home the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina was most recently seen battling Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas during her fight at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by a unanimous decision. Antonina shevchenko won her first professional MMA fight in 2002, against Anara bayanova in the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan. She won via TKO at the end of round 2, and went on to win her 2 subsequent fights in the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko was absent from MMA in order to concentrate on her kickboxing and returned to the ring in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. The promotion ended in the year 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina demonstrated her slashing skills by knocking out Nievera using knees. Following this victory Antonina was given an UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious via unanimous decision but was defeated in her subsequent fight with Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night.
