Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She currently competes within the UFC Flyweight division. Valentina Shevchenko who was a former UFC Flyweight titleholder, and UFC other fighter, is her younger sister. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as an Muay Thai boxer. She made her debut in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the competition and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. She won via TKO at the end of round 2, and went on to win her 2 subsequent fights in the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko was absent from MMA in order to concentrate on her kickboxing and returned to the ring in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. The promotion ended in the year 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina demonstrated her slashing skills by knocking out Nievera using knees. Following this victory Antonina was given an UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious via unanimous decision but was defeated in her subsequent fight with Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko had a win in her first three fights before losing them to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
