Alexandra Hetherington Breckenridge is an American actress. She began her career with support roles in the teen comedy films Big Fat Liar (2002) and She's the Man (2006). Later, she was cast in the character as reporter Willa McPherson on the FX series Dirt. She also had an important role in FX's short-lived series The Ex List. In FX's first season of American Horror Story, she was Moira O'Hara's younger character. She then played Kaylee in the third season. She played Jessie Anderson in the AMC series The Walking Dead and Sophie in the NBC series This Is Us. She also voices of various characters in the comedy show Family Guy. Since her appearance in 2019, she has been starring as Melinda "Mel" Monroe in the Netflix series Virgin River. Breckenridge was born in Darien in Connecticut. She moved to California with her mother when she was of 10. They were able to move around for a year before they found their home in Mill Valley. Breckenridge was attracted to acting, photography and singing when she was 13. Breckenridge moved to Los Angeles with her mother at the age of 15 to pursue her acting career.
